Public Hazard Interventions

Many insects are vectors for the dissemination of diseases. In Western New York, two such insects merit special attention and are treated by The Tree Doctor

  • West Nile Virus – mosquitoes transmit this virus
  • Heavy “backyard” populations of mosquitoes can be controlled by elimination or treatment of standing water and by judicious spray applications
  • Lyme Disease – this disease is carried by ticks that travel on deer – these ticks then get deposited on residential trees and shrubs
  • The Tree Doctor will (a) deter deer traffic, and (b) spray to eradicate ticks
